Release notes - March 2022
Summary
In 22.3 we have:
- updated Traffic Load and Broadband Bandwidth charts on the details page
- added the option to use the Meraki Dashboard API to track SD-WAN uplink status where access to the device using SNMP is not possible
- included lists of cell tower IDs and other information in our Cellular Clarity reports
Traffic Load chart
The new Traffic Load chart is available on the Beta version of the details page.
We've continued our work to update the charts on the details page and make them even more intuitive, responsive and interactive.
Line errors, discards and CPU utilisation on the device are currently part of the Line Health chart. Acknowledging that these metrics are more relevant to load issues, they now appear on the Beta Traffic Load chart, making it easier to correlate different data sources against the same timeline. The customisable threshold value is also visible on the chart and in the side bar. Uncheck options to remove them and declutter the chart.

Broadband Bandwidth chart
The Broadband Bandwidth chart on the details page has been updated to bring it in line with other charts on the details page. On the day view, the chart now shows every poll instead of rolling up to 15 minutes. It's possible to zoom in on a time period and click through from a week or month to a specific date.
Maintenance windows now appear as a purple background on the chart. See the image in the section above.

Meraki SD-WAN uplink status via API
When creating a new Meraki SD-WAN controller, you can select to monitor uplink connections using SNMP or via the Meraki API. The API is the default option and provides simple device and connectivity tracking.
SNMP is an alternative option that allows additional data to be collected. However, it also requires that each Meraki SD-WAN device is reachable using SNMP from the Highlight agent to the devices internet IP address.

Reporting on Cellular enhanced
Highlight records cell tower ID, network name and radio technology for Cellular Clarity watches at every poll and counts the number of changes on a week or month view. This summarised information is now available in reporting by choosing a Cellular Circuits report and including columns for Count of Changes and List of Changes.
This is useful if you receive notice that certain cell towers have planned maintenance and want to check which cellular services are likely to be affected. The list shows all cell tower IDs seen during the time period. Hover to see all or download the report to a CSV to search for a particular ID number.
The suggested report will look like this:

Walk-through tour on the Grid
Our first walk-through tour introduces the location options panel in 5 short steps. Learn about the any/all toggle and the grid view.
As first announced in the 22.1 release notes this tour starts automatically on arrival on the Status Heat Tiles page after the upgrade.
The tour is available any time from the footer of the
We hope to have tours on other new or updated features in the future. Find out more about tours.
