1. Maintenance Windows
This new feature means Highlight can now recognise when devices are in maintenance. Watches in maintenance do not send alerts, change the colour of heat tiles nor decrement availability figures.
Workflow
To set up a maintenance window, a user will need the new Manage Maintenance permission. Then there are two steps:
Gather watches into a container, a new object type in Highlight
Specify the period(s) of maintenance (one-off or recurring)
If you'd like to put an existing service tile into maintenance, contact us for assistance.
Maintenance indicators
The maintenance icon shows on heat tiles with one or more watches in maintenance and on strip charts for individual watches. Read more about maintenance indicators on the Status page.
The Details page also shows when a watch is in maintenance with the line health chart showing current and past maintenance periods. Read more about maintenance indicators on the Details page.
Alerting and Reporting
Generally, alerts are suppressed during maintenance. However, if a watch has gone down during maintenance and not come back up when the maintenance period ends, an alert will be sent. Read more about alert management.
Outages during maintenance do not decrement the availability statistics in the line health view events dialog and reporting.
Our API is initially focused on the creation of and updates to bearer watches.
Future releases may include user management, working with other watch types, and interacting with other features like reporting, alerting, containers, and service tiles.
The Highlight Audit Log has been adjusted so only one line per entry is shown. It's easier to show more entries and scan the page. Expand the line by clicking .
